Welcome to Willunga, a historic village in the heart of the McLaren Vale region, known for its heritage streetscapes, fresh produce, friendly locals, arts, festivals and relaxed country charm. Willunga Wander is a self-guided walking experience that invites you to take your time and enjoy the town, with three great local stops along the way.

You will meet at the Hither & Yon cellar door or your first guided wine tasting of alternative and climate-suited wines in a light-filled space with original slate floors and plenty of character that used to the old butcher shop built in 1855.

From there, wander through the town and along the Shiraz Trail, taking in Willunga’s rich history, heritage buildings, native flora and surrounding vineyards before arriving at the Battle of Bosworth cellar door. Here you’ll enjoy a wine tasting among organically grown vineyards, with the option to sit in the historic chaff shed or take in the views from the garden.

On your way back into town, pass local landmarks including the dairy farm, golf course, old courthouse, police station and stables before finishing at Shifty Lizard Brewing Co Taphouse. Settle in and relax with a paddle of their best froths, and if you feel like staying a little longer, enjoy something from their food menu.

Please allow up to 5 hours for the full experience as you will;be walking a total distance of 4.5km, depending on your walking pace and whether you choose to stop for food along the way.
